we believe that work will become much more flexible in the near future. companies need to align their resources with the demand and individuals are looking for more freedom in choosing their work assignments. work on demand – or flexwork – will play an important role in this process. our mission is to facilitate this transition by providing a fully integrated platform to manage work on demand.
interview with the founders
it is no coincidence that florian bodenmann and fabio donnaloia jointly developed the online platform job.rocks. florian as a business IT specialist and fabio as the former swiss managing director of the promotion agency cpm know both the personnel market and the digital possibilities in this area like the back of their hand.

how did you actually come up with the idea of developing an online portal for event job planning and placement?
fabio: as the managing director of a large promotion agency, i was looking for software for more than five years that would cover the entire administrative process of personnel planning, from recruiting to payroll. it was always clear to me that with the right system we could work internally around 5-20% more efficiently.
florian: for my master’s thesis i wanted to solve a real problem and so i came up with a personnel planning software. i conducted around 20 interviews with, among others, fabio. he was exactly looking for software in this area. the project then became more and more extensive and now we are at the start with a very flexible solution, in which the employer can freely choose his modules depending on the needs.
if you were to run an event location or offer an event service, why would you do your personnel planning with job.rocks in the future?
fabio: working with job.rocks is fun and it is very intuitive to use, which we attached great importance to during development. thanks to job.rocks, employees in planning and recruiting can spend more time for and with customers and employees. instead of emails, lists, whatsapp, software and a telephone, all you need from now on is job.rocks and a telephone.
florian: besides, there are no costs at job.rocks when the software is not used. so you pay for the tool when you need it and otherwise have no expenses.
let’s assume that your platform is not purely of a non-profit nature, how and where do you actually earn your money with job.rocks?
fabio: in addition to the free marketplace for employees and employers, we also offer the software for deployment planning as an extension, which we charge for each job completed. you can also simply register to use this extension, it doesn’t cost anything yet. only when you then also work with the deployment planning do you incur costs. in addition, companies that do not want to employ their temporary staff themselves can also outsource this to us.
florian: job.rocks works with a freemium model, i.e. many functions and also a marketplace through which employees can be recruited – are effectively free. the other modules offer such great advantages that you would not want to do without them.
finally, a look into the future: what is your vision with job.rocks, where should your platform be in five years?
fabio: in five years we want to be the first address in switzerland for all those who want to work flexibly for different employers, when and where they want.
florian: the benefits for employers will be correspondingly great – you will find an ever larger pool of employees – and you can use this yourself.
